James Trimm’s Nazarene Commentary on the Book of Esther
The Book of Esther occurs in a long version (found in the Greek Septuagint) and a shorter version (found in the Masoretic Text). For the sake of completeness, I have commentary on the entire (longer) text. The portions not found in the Masoretic Text, are sometimes presented under Chapter headings A-F and sometimes separately under the title “The Rest of Esther” under Chapters 11-16. For helpful reference, both systems are used below.
Chapter A (Chapters 11:2-12:6)
Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Chapter 3a (3:1-13)
Chapter B (Chapter 13)
Chapter 3b (3:14-15)
Chapter 4
Chapter C (Chapter 14)
Chapter D (Chapter 15)
Chapter 5
Chapter 6
Chapter 7
Chapter 8a (8:1-12)
Chapter E (Chapter 16)
Chapter 8b (8:13-17)
Chapter 9
Chapter 10
Chapter F (10:4-11:1)
