The God of this World (2Cor. 4:4)

Paul writes:

1 Because of this, we are not weary in this service that we have received, according to
the tender mercies that are upon us.
2 But we have renounced the hidden [things] of shame, and we do not walk in craftiness,
or defraud the Word of Eloah: but we show our nefeshot, by the manifestation of the
Truth, to all the minds of the sons of men before Eloah.
3 But if our Good News is hidden, it is hidden to those who are perishing;
4 Whose minds, the god of this world has blinded, in order that they do not believe: lest
the Light of the Good News of the glory of the Messiah, who is the likeness of Eloah,
should dawn upon them.
(2Corinthians 4:1-4 HRV)

Every element of “truth” of this universe is coated in a shell of darkness. These shells of darkness are called in Hebrew Keliphot ("husks" or "shells"). These shells of darkness conceal each element of truth in this universe with deception. Like an M&M all we can see is the shell that encompasses the truth, until we break through these shells and liberate the truth which they have hidden from us.

These shells of darkness they have personality, they are the "principalities" Paul speaks of:

because your struggle is not with flesh and blood,
but with principalities and with authorities
and with the possessors of this dark world
and with the evil spirits that are under heaven.
(Eph. 6:12 HRV)

The word for "principalities" in the Aramaic is ARKOS which corresponds to the Greek word ARCHONS. It is the job of the “Archos” to keep mankind deceived by this dark world and keep us from seeking the truth.

It should be no surprise to us that we as believers suffer oppression in this world, because HaSatan is the "god of this world" that is to say the world as it is generally perceived is not the truth, but the "dark world" (Eph. 6:12) with which HaSatan hides the truth from man.

However we read in the original Hebrew text of Hebrews:

Behold faith is the principle of things hoped for
and the appearance of the illuminated things that are not seen.
(Heb. 11:1 HRV)

At WNAE we are engaged at the work of cracking open the shells of darkness and revealing the light of truth in this dark world. Of course HaSatan does not go easily... he is kicking and screaming every step of the way.

HaSatan wishes "to steal and to kill and to destroy" (Jn. 10:10) and he knows the time is short and has stepped up his war with those who proclaim both Torah Observance and Faith in Messiah (the two pillars of Nazarene Judaism) (Rev. 12:12, 17; 13:7). But no weapon forged against us will prosper (Is. 54:17).

Comment by Joseph S on July 27, 2012 at 12:35pm: Let me go you one step further..........YHVH's "miracles" lead a person toward Him....to separate from this world. What does separation mean? If in keeping the actual 'holy days' of YHVH [ His sabbaths ] one moves away from "mixing" it all up with the symbols of 'the god of this world' then one is moving toward YHVH. Would YHVH use 'miracles' to draw people toward the the 'asherah tree', or the 'eggs of Isis/Ishtar? Would YHVH use miracles to cause people to go into the forest to cut down a tree and fashion it to stand upright...exactly opposite of what He commanded Jeremiah not to do? Or would YHVH send His son to tell us its OK now?...we can mix it all up now......on the contrary, He calls people to come out of the world...to be His people, participate in His culture......

the 'god of this world' will do lying signs and wonders to get people to do what YHVH has commanded us not to do.....and after 2730 years of exile many 'former-Israelites' are still unrepentant...forgiven? yes...but to repent means to turn away from or go back to where you came from..christians have refused to do this even as the exile has ended.....now what? .there is only a remnant and that is all there is...all others have missed the 'mark of YHVH'....

so when you see a 'miracle' and you see the people flock to the 'pope' or some other 'prince' then you can rightfully see that the miracle was done, not by YHVH, but by the 'god of this world'....and how far out into "outer space" does the influence of the 'god of this world' go?....Once he is removed from this earth he is cast into 'outer darkness'....the perfect prison for the 'spirit being'.....

Of course the existence of the hiders of truth could itself be said to be a hidden truth, those two ideas are not mutually exclusive.

The shells are not the hidden truths, they are that which hides the truth. The truth is hidden under the shell.
