The Feast of Yeshua
By
James Scott Trimm

Well its that time of year again, Chag Yeshua (the Feast of Deliverance, or the Feast of Yeshua) is coming up.  Every year the 12th through the 18th of Elul are set aside to celebrate the Feast of Chag Yeshua, commemorating the deliverance of the Jews in Egypt from Ptolemy IV Philopater in 217 BCE. It is no coincidence that the month of Elul is often called "the month of mercy".  The Chag Yeshua story is the subject of 3rd Maccabees.  This year Chag Yeshua will run from Aug. 30- Sept. 5 2012.

While the general theme of 3rd Maccabees (deliverance) is common in the Scriptures (deliverance from: Pharaoh, Haman, Antiochus Epiphanies etc.) the Chag Yeshua story is unique because it names only two protagonists. These two named in the Chag Yeshua story of 3rd Maccabees are Simon the High Priest and Eleazar the Priest, and they  are both prayer warriors. This is no accident, the lesson of the Chag Yeshua story is the power of prayer.  Simon’s prayer is found in 3rd Maccabees 2:1-20. This Simon, “Simon the Righteous” (219-196 B.C.E.), was one of the last members of the Great Assembly which had been established by Ezra. The Mishna says:

Simeon the Righteous was of the remnants
of the Great Assembly. He used to say, “On three
things the world stands: On the Torah,
On the [Temple] Service,
and on acts of piety (chasidim).
(m.Avot 1:2)

Ben Sira calls him “the leader of his brothers and the pride of his people.” (50:1) and dedicates an entire chapter to his good reputation (Sira 50). Simon was the earliest post-biblical sage cited in the Mishna.  The climax of the story follows a prayer by Eleazar the Priest (3Macc. 6:1-15).

The Chag Yeshua story lays out the deliverance from Israel and the place that intercessory prayer played in that deliverance.

This is a great time of year to engage in intercessory prayer for the salvation of all Israel and Judah!

Chag Yeshua is also a great time to celebrate our salvation through Yeshua the Messiah!

It was during the month of Elul and almost certainly during the days of Chag Yeshua that Rabbi Kaduri wrote his now famous note declaring that Yeshua is the Messiah!

Baruch HaShem YHWH! He will lift the people and prove that His Word and His Torah are valid!

Please also consider supporting this ministry in our efforts to lift up the people of Israel and prove to all the world that His Word and His Torah are valid, as we reach the world with the message of Torah and Messiah.  This ministry is like no other in our unique ability to reach out to the Jewish people with the message that Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah of Judaism!  I do not know of any other ministry that has made this point as powerfully from a Jewish perspective as has this ministry.  But we need your help.

It’s about time we as believers got back to the Faith once and for all delivered to the set apart ones! (Jude 1:3) The fact is that it costs money to carry on YHWH's work. And today's high-tech world is making it possible like never before for us to reach vast masses over great distances virtually instantaneously! The proclomation of the restoration truth of Torah and Messiah is a task of gigantic proportions, but it requires money. YHWH, in His infinite wisdom has provided for this financing, and in such manner that His true called laborers can be free to serve Him alone, carrying His Message boldly.  Just as we would expect, this plan is plainly revealed in His Word.

HaSatan hates the tithe, he wants to steal the blessings that YHWH has in store for us, and he wants to destroy the work of YHWH. He is terrified at the thought of Nazarenes all over the world tithing. If we wish to stand against HaSatan we must start by getting serious about the Tithe. Go ahead... test YHWH and see if he does not repay you seven fold in His blessings!

HaSatan wishes "to steal and to kill and to destroy" (Jn. 10:10) and he knows the time is short and has stepped up his war with those who proclaim both Torah Observance and Faith in Messiah (the two pillars of Nazarene Judaism) (Rev. 12:12, 17; 13:7). But no weapon forged against us will prosper (Is. 54:17).
