Well the last couple of days had been very depressing and stressful. I won't go into everything, but my right hand is still bandaged so that I can only type with my left hand and right index finger, and we are also still fighting a legal battle to save our home. Donations had been low, and while several of you stepped up to the plate recently, last night we were down to our last $25. I sent out a number of fund raising messages, and while no donations were coming in, we did get two messages attacking our ministry work and telling me to get a job.
By noon today we were down to our last $6. Today was one of those days when I was praying for the strength to carry on with the work. I have often quoted Rabbi Kook in saying that I teach Torah because UI have the strength to, and because I do not have the strenghth not to.
But this was one of those days when I was just fed up with the lack of support on the one hand and the constant attacks and snide comments on the other hand. I was thinking, let someone else pour through the Hebrew and Aramaic NT manuscripts. Let someone else spend hours combing through the Dead Sea Scrolls, Targums, Talmuds, Midrashim, Zohar, Philo etc. with a fine tooth comb, looking for infoirmation that gives fresh Jewish insights on the teachings of Yeshua and His Emissaries. Let someone else stand up for truth. Surely I have put in my years of work for YHWH, surely YHWH will release me from this burden.
Then something happened that lifted and renewed my spirit. We went to check the ministry PO Box and there was a surprise package from one of our contributors ... a large box. Inside the box were some gifts for my wife, designed to help her destress, scented candles and spa
items in beautiful gift boxes (My wife was very moved by this gift). There was also an envelope with a little money in it... at just the right moment! And most importantly hand made get well cards from Nazarene children! Jesse, Elijah, Kalli, Haddassah and Miriyam. And a $5 from the kids! The hand made cards from these kids brought me to tears.
Jesse likes dinosaurs and drew me a T-Rex.
Kalli sent me a beautiful passage from Psalms on Scroll stationary.
Miriyam drew a picture of my wife and I.
Haddaseh sent me a drawing of a menorah.
And Elijah pointed to himself in a picture.
To the family that sent the package, my wife and I thank you very much, it came at just the right time to lift both of lour spirits.
I am asking you, if this ministry has ever benefited you, to strongly consider stepping up to the plate and supporting this work today.
