Serving Notice

Lately I have gotten a number of emails subtly suggesting that our ministry would bring in more money if we changed this or that teaching. In fact I just got yet another of these emails. Let me make this clear, I will teach the truth and I will not alter my teaching to bring in more money. I will not "sell out". If this ministry is not worth your support, then find one that is, and send your tithe to them. If this ministry is worthy of your support, the I ask you to step up to the plate and support this work with your tithes and offerings. But I will not "sell out" and be bought by those promising financial support if I will change my teaching.

I AM NOT FOR SALE !!

Folks I hate sending out this kind of message, and I have not had to do so in several weeks, but bills are past due and we are in a budget shortfall and we must raise at least $200 in the next 48 hours. We are coming right up to the last minute on this.

Comment by Rabbi Stanley Chester on August 28, 2012 at 7:12pm: I lead a few Messianic congregations in the US and abroad (two here in Washington State). I get this all the time. I've lost at least double the amount of people that I've kept. Had I changed the teachings, those who left would've stayed, but here's my conclusion... Had I changed the teachings (and I would never do that) I would've lost the good people that I've kept and I'd have been left with a group I wouldn't want to lead. Those who leave are the people you WANT to leave. Yes, it will hit you financially, there are no "mega-Churches" when you speak the truth. But you're left with a better quality of people. Each of our Congregations are small, under 40 people for each one. They keep us afloat albeit meagerly. I've known many other Messianic leaders (I've been in the movement for many years, I was raised in Jerusalem) who have gone down completely even though they spoke the truth as well. It's sad to see and they deserved to stay afloat. I don't presume to know why G-d allows that but it happens. I hope it doesn't happen to you but you wont find me giving you false hope and popular "Christian" encouragement like "G-d will always keep your ministry going" etc etc.I do hope that He does though. I have been supporting Chabad; however, Yahweh has been dealing with me about my association with them. I love them dearly; however, I need to be the the "lo-ami" who have made Teshuvah. I prefer to pay by check and will henceforth send my check to your mailing address. Do not compromise. Yahweh is Faithful and will make a way. I am a living testimony to that. I formerly worked with the Bush Administration and have been out of work since the change of administration; however, Yahweh made a way for me to go to law school (which I am attending now) and retrain for the cosmetology industry by reducing the costs well below the original costs for such programs. Be Faithful to Him and He will not fail you.
