The latest theory to light up eschatology is the theory of the placement of were Psalms 83 goes on the prophetical Biblical timeclock? This is a great theory for me because it falls in so well with other "end time" and "latter day" ages events filling in more events for modern eschatologists in those ages now as to when every thing was tried to be filled into the seven years of the Tribulation of Daniel and Revelation.
In his book "Israestine" the author squarely places this war before the "Gog War" of Ezekiel 38 and 39. "Psalm 83 comes first, and then Ezekiel 38," author Bill Salus told the WorldNetDaily.com, in their report "Prophecy-theory suprise! Russia not about to invade Mideast," published on August 19, 2008.
This helps to shine some light onto why the Middle East is at peace when Gog hits Israel (Ezekiel 38 and 39). The treaty is drawn up by Russia, Saudi Arabia, the UN, and the U.S. (Ezekiel 38:13-14) for some reason these powers impose a peace on Israel. Seven year Middle East Peace Plans have been in vogue since the Oslo Peace Accords of 1993. However, Gog, the modern leader of Russia, and a confederation of nations with Iran in the lead join Gog in breaking this peace accord.
The Psalm 83 War would explain all that because in the Psalm 83 War Israel is jumped by it neighbors and their neihbors lose again so badly the world will once again have to enforce a peace treaty on Israel. Salus points out what is so interesting about the prediction in Psalm 83 is that it never happened in ancient history. The nations mentioned never formed a confederation against Israel as is called for Psalm 83.
However, today the lands of those ancient enemies of Israel are still full of modern enemies who hate Israel. Salus believes, and I do too, that the Psalm 83 War is something to consider deeply as you meditate on God's prophetic word.
