How does Sabbath Teach Me To Love God?

Matt 22:36-38 says: “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment.

It seems from Jesus' response that Gods greatest desire for me is to LOVE him. To…

Feeling a bit conflicted and offended

I thought I had finally found a decent church, (church of God seventh day) Sabbath keeping and understanding of my Jewish ways until last Sabbath when one of the elders again brought up the "law", teaching in Sabbath school that it was "nailed to the cross". Our typical banter ensued until he stated "if you keep those old testament Jewish feasts, you are denying the divinty of Christ!" The discussion quickly heated up until I quoted Leviticus 23. with "forever". He began his "That can mean all… Continue

What is sin?

What is sin?

1. What are the boundaries, perimeters according to God?

2. What is the measuring stick by which man is accountable?

3. Once we have defined sin what is the next step?

4. If we are going to be judged by God for sin done in the body shouldn’t we know what sin is?

Patriarchinity Chapter 4: Superordination and Subordination vs. Co-equality

Patriarchinity Chapter 4 Superordination & Subordination vs. Co-equality

By Chris Jacob (Yaacov) Schaefer ©2009

The Greeks had their pagan “trinity” of Hecate: mother, maiden, crone; and the Celts had a pagan "trinity" of Brigit (the three “mothers" as represented by the three moon phases and the shamrock). Certainly we don’t want to fall into the trap of paganism in any way shape or form.

Yet many facets of Christianity will openly state that the Father, Son and… Continue

Patriarchinity Chapter 3: Echad-ness vs. Multiple Personality Disorder

Chapter 3: Echad-ness vs. Multiple Personality Disorder

An opening question: Which of the following makes more sense: To comprehend the order of Elohim by perceiving those who were made in Elohim’s image; or to attempt comprehension by imposing a mental illness upon Deity?

Before proceeding any further, some definitions are needed.

Echad = Compound Unity.

Multiple personality… Continue

Patriarchinity Chapter 1 Elohim vs. God

Patriarchinity Chapter 1: Elohim vs. God

By Chris Jacob (Yaacov) Schaefer ©2009

In thousands of places throughout the mainstream bibles, the generic term “God” is used for the Creator. But where did this word “God” come from? What does it sound like to the Hebraic ear? There is a verse that marks a very clear distinction.

Yeshayahu/Isaiah 65:11

11 But you are they that forsake YHWH,

that forget My kadosh (set apart) mountain,

that… Continue
