Supporting Nazarene Judaism

Donations on the chip-in counter are down 50% following two months in which they were down by 33%. Over the summer when donations were down we were able to defer large portions of our electric bill (my wife is disabled and they had a special program for the disabled this last summer) which must now be paid out over the next five months. Midrash of Jacob's Sticks

There is a beautiful Midrash concerning the death of the patriarch Ya'kov (Jacob).

From his deathbed Ya'kov called his twelve sons to him asking them each to bring a stick. When they had come to him Ya'akov asked his sons to tie all the sticks in a bundle. The Melchizedek Document (11Q13)

The following is a commentary on Leviticus 25 found in cave 11 of the Dead Sea Scrolls. It could have written by a Nazarene, except for the fact that it predates the birth of Yeshua.

The document is very interesting as it speaks of a Messiah who it identifies as "EL" and "ELOHIM". It also quotes Isaiah 61:2 substituting "Melchizadek" for YHWH.

Just got Back from Kansas

Shalom folks,

I have just gotten home from Kansas where I had the pleasure this last weekend of addressing B'nai Yeshua Nazarene Congregation. This was a small but very receptive group, and we had a great Sabbath meeting.

I left Friday morning and it looks like I have a lot of catching up to do, as there has been a flurry of posting in the last four days, so please be patient as I catch up.
