Recovered Syriac Gospel Fragment

Commentary

Introduction

When I returned from my first trip to the Middle East in 1980 in search of Syriac manuscripts I showed professor Arthur Voobus a small Garshuni and Syriac manuscript I had purchased from a private family in Jerusalem. The first thing he did after I handed it to him to inspect was to begin peeling apart part of the cover. I was horrified. This beautiful sacred object was being destroyed. He saw my anxiety and he said, “Don't you know that this binding was… Continue

The Great Torah Debate

Can you answer the strong Christian claim that the Torah has been abolished?

Do you know about the doctrine of dispensationalism and why many Christians believe that the Law is not for today?

The Great Torah Debate:

On November 10th and 17th of 2004, Messianics and Christians gathered in Dallas/Fort Worth Texas as Rabbi James Trimm and Pastor Mark Carr debated the question, "Is the Torah for Today?" (Parts one and two).…

Old Syriac Heritage of the Peshitta - New Data Emerging

New data is emerging which supports what I have been saying and writing for many years now, that the Peshitta is a revision of the earlier Aramaic text of the Old Syriac:

Swine Flu Vaccine: Back of the Line Old People

America is starting down the eugenics road it had to abandon nearly 50 years ago. By increments, first legalize abortion, then pass a health care bill that kills off the old, and pretty soon you will have a government that can kill anybody.

To show his distain for old folks, President Barack Hussein Obama (Peace Be Upon Him), the most magnificent and merciful, has ordered his CDC to vaccinate everyone in the nation for swine flu… Continue

Yom Kippur Service Introduction - Thought This might help some congregations

Before our Yom Kippur liturgy, I will be sharing the following message to put the days proceedings in perspective.

Welcome!

"Whoever does not carry his own crossbeam and come after Me cannot be My disciple” (Luke 14:27). Messiah Yahshua’s atoning sacrifice is contingent on our own sacrifice we make each day by following his rightly divided instruction. This instruction is the correct approach to seeing, hearing, walking and being made alive in the Torah. Yahshua’s… Continue

Catching The Wind

Standing on the edge of a cliff trying to catch the wind, I can't forget how it ends or remember how it begins. Rain drops and snow flakes alike find their way into my hands, but they're not why I'm standing like a scare crow of a man. Gentle breeze, swaying trees. Soothing air, without care. Sometimes it feels like climbing a glass mountain in rain, other times it feels like looking for black sheep in vain. Some days it seems like trying to hold hands with time, other days it seems like… Continue

Acts 15 - A mission to reinstate Ephraim, not Noachide

I have heard people say that Acts 15 is a mission to turn gentiles into Noachides. And that the four laws given in Acts 15 are an example of the limited amount of Torah the gentiles/Noachides have to do. While this is an interesting concept and attempt at reconciling Jewish and Christian theology, I believe there is another more likely scenario at work. I believe Acts 15 is not talking about "gentiles" at all. It is talking about Israelites, in particular the 10 northern tribes who had absorbed… Continue

Serious Concern

Shalom Chaverim,

Folks if you are Children of Light then we really need your help. We are way behind and we desperately must raise $1,000 in the next few days (This is beyond the $110 already raised this month). If everyone can chip in we can make this amount. We are asking you all to dig deep and give what you can. Perhaps someone out there can make a one time donation of $500 or $1,000 to get us through this emergency. We are not kidding, this is a real emergency.

Is… Continue

Kabbalist Yeshua - Eat my fleash and drink my blood.

Yohanan 6:53-63 "Yeshua therefore said to them, truly, truly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the son of Adam and drink his blood, you possess no life in yourselves. He who eats my flesh and drinks my blood possesses everlasting life, and I shall raise him up in the last day. For my flesh is truly food (meat) and my blood is truly drink...But Yeshua knowing within himself that his taught ones were grumbling about this, said to them, does this make… Continue

Hebronics (humor)

Shalom mispacha,

Here's a repost from "Bangitout.com" the kosher humor site. (We could all use a laugh?)

Ma, throw me out the window, a pickle!

The New York City Public Schools have officially declared Jewish English, now dubbed Hebronics, as a second language. Backers of the move say the city schools are the first in the nation to recognize Hebronics as a valid language and a siginificant attribute of American culture.

According to Howard Ashland, linguistics… Continue

Being of one accord

Being of one accord

Shalom mispacha (my family),

The title of this blog pretty well sums things up about how I'm felling about things. Folks please stop all the quibbling! People are watching your actions and taking notes. We are supposed to be examples of God's people, and what sort of example are we setting when we fuss and fight and show little or no love and tolerance.

Now having said that, I'll be a bit more specific:

Please immediately clean up… Continue

I May Be Paranoid, But That Doesn't Mean I'm Not Right -- Really Right

Let's see? In his book President Obama said he was always looking for radicals to be friends with. So why should he be stunned that Americans don't like him -- they don't like radicals. After all, he did go to Rev. Wright's church for 20 years, was buds with Louis Farrakhan, Bill Aryers and any other "Weathermen Underground" people he met. He hates Jews and whites, loves blacks and any other minority, loves Arabs and Islam, bows down to the… Continue

Obama the Hunter, How So?

Regarding one of my last notes “What is Obama’s Part in Prophecy?” in which I referred to Obama as one of the hunters of Jeremiah 16:15-16, another revelation has come to me about this.

Before anyone comes to any conclusion, I am not saying that hunters are bad. I think that hunters are very much needed in this world to control the growth of animal population. I believe that is the way that God has things set up to be, but I have a problem with the hunters, which are mentioned in the… Continue

What is Obama’s Part in Prophecy?

What is Obama’s Part in Prophecy?

Is Obama the Antichrist? This is an idea, which I have wondered about and tossed back and forth for sometime. Certainly, if he isn’t I knew that he held the spirit of the Antichrist in his bones.

But if Obama isn’t the Antichrist, then what is God’s purpose with him? I believe tonight I have found that purpose. Please let me expound.

In Jeremiah 16:15 (But, The Lord liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of… Continue
