In Devarim 4, where it says to keep "These Words" upon your heart, etc...isn't this the same term referring to "the TEN Words" i.e. the Ten Commandments?I understand that the rabbis actually had the commandments recited as part of the temple service prayers, but removed them (!) replacing them with the Shema... is this correct?It seems to me that teaching my sons to keep the Ten Words would be more in keeping with the intent of Devarim 4-6.See More

- Dad, Musician and Web Developer. After many years in christian ministry, broke off from mainline denominations to self-study and discover the truth. Ended up keeping the commandments and looking for others who "kept the commandments AND the testimony of Yahushua." Discovered Michael Rood and others online, and learned a lot, ordering books and DVDs. Later found a Messianic congregation and saw my whole family come to Torah in 2008. We wear Tzitzyot, but no kippas, and tend to be non-rabbinical, though we follow a few traditions that our congregation follows.
