Onieu bahn Duid said… Shalom. You mention the age theories: are you referring to the age of the Mashiyach, or are you referring to the age of the Earth, or something else? Just trying to clarify, as I have theories on both =). What is the full extent of your canon? My canon, which includes but is definitely not limited to the 66) is the rough equivalent of twice the size of the 66.

I am curious, how many people are in your congregation?
I regard many many writings as Scripture, though currently recognitions i do not, though always willing to reconsider; perhaps i have erred in rejecting it. Do you accept any of the following books that I accept as Scripture as Scripture (i'll only list a couple for now)?
Testaments of the Patriarchs (including Kohath and Amram's Testaments), the Sibylline Oracles, and Dionysius the Areopagite.
Onieu bahn Duid said… I will definitely look into your version of Recognitions. I did notice that Homilies is the one that is heavily stuffed with horrible doctrines, whereas the Recognitions was very little seeming wrong, just one or two passages as opposed to the many in Homilies.
6 AD eh? That definitely is outside the box =).
Wow that's a very cool calling you and your wife have. I myself hope to start my own congregation, but this will probably not occur until I retire and buy some land for a farm, which i intend to do at the age of 30.

Onieu bahn Duid said… interesting; i'll have to look more into it.
What do you think however of Irenaeus' reference to the apostolic tradition that Yahushua was in His late forties when He died? While church fathers believing something does not by any means make it true, the fact that he was extremely close to the time of the apostles bears greater weight to his arguments than the later church fathers to come. However, that being said, we know that Irenaeus and Justin Martyr were two very early church fathers that also had some pretty off ideas, so this doesn't necessarily indicate anything about their accuracy. but, then again, historical accuracy is easier to get right than philosophical/theological accuracy, and so, I think its worth reflecting on the data of Irenaeus' reference to Yahushua's age at death.
