- I was raised in a Pentecostal, Catholic home. At 13 yoa I was given an assignment by my teacher to do a book report on my ancestors who are from Poland. After doing some research a thought popped into my head that I was Jewish. It stayed in my heart as a small flame until my Uncle confirmed it. My dad's side is all Catholic (what I was told). My uncle told me my great grandfather used a dead soldiers passport to get to America and that our name had been changed several times. I didn't accept it as fact until I went to Israel and our tour guide said it was a common name there. We did some genetic testing after that to confirm it. This set me on the journey back to my roots.
