Comment by Obadiah Robinson on December 15, 2010 at 5:59pm Are there any translations of the full Bible from the Aramaic other than Lamsa's Translation? His translation is too much like the KJV.
No. And even Lamsa did not translate the Peshitta Apocrypha (which are part of the canon of the Peshitta Tanak).
A good resource some day would be the Masoretic Text, LXX and Peshitta translated literally in parallel columns and annotated with reference to the Samaritan text, the Dead Sea Scrolls and Masorah.
Comment by Obadiah Robinson on December 15, 2010 at 6:57pm That's my dream Bible, the LXX, Hebrew Masoretic, and Peshitta, in the original scripts with an English translation for each one. It would be a massive undertaking, but worth it.

Comment by Gregg Key on December 20, 2010 at 2:16pm What is the best resource available to understand the original aramaic as spoken by Jesus? Thanks
Comment by Obadiah Robinson on December 21, 2010 at 3:54pm I would say, go to a Maronite Catholic Church and ask the priest for lessons in Aramaic. They have their service all in the Aramaic spoken by Jesus.
@ Gregg: Try Everyday Aramaic (Galilean)
