Hebrews in Ancient America

Did ancient Hebrew explorers and missionaries come to the New World centuries before Columbus? Were any of the American Indians descended from any of the Ten Lost Tribes? This is a place to discuss and debate these questions.

I believe that the lost tribes of Israel did migrate to the Americas after their captivity in Syria. I am talking about the diaspora.
If some of those tribes migrated up to Russia through the Caucus mountains, it would have been very easy for some of their descendents to cross the berring straight and come into Alaska and then travel down the west coast to the Americas, either north America, and down to central America.
I don't know if they had vessels that were strong enough and capable of crossing the Atlantic Ocean, especially during hurricane season. But we are only speculating that they did not have vessels that were worthy to withstand the raging of the sea.

Yes it is called the Los Lunas Inscription. There is a chapter about it in this book.

Ed, that is true, but the scope of their traveling was around the British Isles and through the mediterrean sea ports. There is a big difference with traveling waters around land and crossing a three thousand mile ocean with no land to pull into if their ships had come across some sort of natural disaster that is so prevelant during the months of March to November.
I know. We came to this country on a ship back in the early fifties, and this is what, some 3500 years later, and let me tell you, the voyage was extremely rough and my parents were so sea sick because of the rough seas. And our ship had medical facilities on it, where the ships of the time back in the the second century did not have any of the provisions that were available to the passengers on the ships of modern day.
I am not saying that they did not come to the Americas by ship. I am just saying that it would have been so extremely difficult. When the vikings cross the atlanic, it was half of the distance to Greenland than it would have been to the Americas.
I know that the MOrmons teach that the lost tribes traveled to the Americas. I studied with them for about a year and I have their books. But right now, all is speculation.
WE will not find out the truth until Yahshua returns.
And don't forget, the largest portion of the Israelite population is found right here in america. But this migration happened over many centuries, and especially in this last century.
When the lost tribes of Israel went into diaspora, they intermarried and intermingled with the people of the nations around Israel. They ended up being in the British Isles, and through out Europe, They even migrated and intermarried with the people of Asia. But the majority of those people of the lost tribes of Israel don't even know who they are. They had adopted the ways of the nations around them and lost their culture and their identity.
It is these people who migrated to the Americas as pilgrims.
Yahweh had instituted this nation so that His people would not be persecuted anymore. This nation was founded because Yahweh wanted it founded. Yahweh wanted a nation where He could be worshipped in spirit and in truth, but we ended up going the way of the pagans instead. But soon, very soon, Yahweh will take the slumber away from His covenant people and He will remove the veil from their spiritual eyes and they will once again remember who they are and they will come back to Yahweh and will once again be part of the covenant promises.
That is you and me.
I know that this happened, for my father was one of those from the lost tribes of Israel, and yet, his family adopted the ways of the Russians and even became Greek Orthodox. But his ancestors came from Israel. His family changed their affiliation with the Hebrews because of the persecution that was happening to the israelites in Russia. So I know first hand of what actually happened to most of those Israelites of the ten northern tribes that went into diaspora.

I meant to say the second century before our common era.

After coming to the USA, we lived in Tishomingo, Ok. where my step father was an attorney. It also is the Capital of the Chickasas Indians, one of the 5 civilized tribes. Many in the early 50's could not speak English. One of my classmates took me to meet her mum a fullblood who did not speak English. She was aware of the Creation story, as well as the flood and of people being scattered throughout the world. This story was handed down generation after generation. In the 80's we witnessed to the Navaho Indians at Shiprock, they had a slightly different creation story as well as flood storythat had been handed down orally throughout their generations, In 2007 I purchased a book about the Maasai, while in Nairobi,Kenya. I was amazed to see a group of Maasai pictured with their shofars. Later as I walked through Nairobi with , my friend Pastor Patrick of the Kibera Slum, we met a couple of the elders of the Maasai. Through translation I had Patrick ask them why they had shofars, to my suprise the Senior elder replied that they have always been monotheistic, and one day the Most High Would blow His Shofar to summon all the tribes together.

Actually the Mormons do NOT believe that. They believe that a group of the tribe of Joseph that they say lived in Judah at the time of the Babylonian invasion came in a ship the the New World. The Mormons distinguish this group as distinct from the Lost Ten Tribes which they believe went somewhere "north" where they believe they will remain, as I recall until the return of Messiah.

Just to set the record straight.

BTW there is also evidence presented in the book that Solomon's Navy was sailing the Indian Ocean and the Atlantic and perhaps even circling the globe.

I understand the Cherokees have a stone with the Jubilees, feasts, and sabbaths marked.
