Nazarene Space

Shalom Talmidim,

We are making some big changes at Beit Netzarim Yeshiva that should be very helpful to the community.

New physical campus at Temple Texas at Agudat Bris congregation. – But don’t worry we still have correspondence classes which you can take from anywhere in the world.

New Provisional Rabbinical Certification - One difficulty with Yeshiva certification in the past is that it requires a lot of work now, but takes years to pay off in the form of an actual degree and ordination. But now we have changed all of that. Applicants can get provisional certification now, while they complete the degree program.

Here is how it works: It’s kind of like a provisional driver’s license that a student driver gets, that allows them to drive under certain conditions. The applicant must meet the following criteria:

1. Have a sponsoring Rabbi as a mentor. Don’t worry, if you do not already have a mentor, we can set you up with one.

2. Have completed (and passed) The Davar Bible School Free Bible Correspondence course. This is a simple six lesson basic course in Nazarene Theology.

3. Make a personal commitment to complete the degree program within five years.

4. Pay a certification fee of $500 which may be broken into two monthly payments of $250

5. Complete an application and personal interview.

This program will help qualified applicants receive certification quickly, but without compromising our commitment to quality graduates.

Do NOT send any fees yet. We will notify you soon of where an how to send in the fees.

If you are interested in this program please send an email to NazareneYeshiva@yahoo.com to request an application.

Shalom, Before I request an application, I have a couple questions. First, would graduation from this yeshiva be honored and respected by the broader community, or would a graduate be scoffed at for not being a "real" Rabbi with the "do it yourself" credentials. I have little regard for the "self proclaimed rabbis" that pollute the doctrines of our brethren, and I would not wish to be labeled a hypocrite after all this work. Which brings me to the second question. If a person wished to attain the legitimate qualification to bear the title "Rabbi" should one wish to do so, what kind of weekly study effort in hours would the average student working a full time job expect to invest to succeed? (How many hours a week in study, particularly for one who barely has a remedial knowledge of Hebrew)?
Well in the end only time will tell how individuals will regard this certification. I can tell you that at present this Yeshiva has the recognition of the Worldwide Nazarene Assembly of Elohim http://www.wnae.org , the International Assembly of Nazarene Israelites (http://www.iani.us.com) and the UONYC (http://www.2house.org)

A given class will be about three hours a week
When can we start? I'm getting anxious!.
I am wanting to enter into studies. How do I get the Davar Bible School Correspondence Course? Also how much will it cost to attend and finish Rabbinate studies?
Hi Frank,

I can answer one of your questions. The 6 lessons are at www.lulu.com/nazarene
