Forget the "Sputnik moment." If two astrophysicists are correct, we may be having a "Tyche moment" -- a ninth planet to add to our solar system. But that's a big "if." The two scientists who make the claim, Daniel Whitmire and John Matese from the…Continue

Who says the world is only full of bad news? NASA has largely dismissed a Russian report that an asteroid larger than two football fields could hit Earth by 2036. In other words, you can relax. Known as "99942 Apophis," the 900-foot-long asteroid…Continue

On Thursday morning, you may be talking about what you watched on Wednesday night. But we're not talking about a TV show. Many parts of the U.S. could be treated to a rare but spectacular celestial event: The northern lights, the aurora borealis,…Continue

Comment by John on April 15, 2011 at 2:03am The comet Hale-Bopp was the comet of the exodus, not the comet of the world-wide flood as some believe. This comet has marked our generation as the last generation before the end of the age. March 22, 1997 was perigee and April 1, 1997 was perihelion when the comet Hale-Bopp reached the phase of its prominent brightness. The 8 days of Passover/Matza fell during this time period just as it did during the exodus almost 3500 years ago.
Comment by John on April 16, 2011 at 12:02am If you throw out the idea of Venus being the comet.
In chapter 3 of Worlds in Collision he gives a lot of good quotes from ancient authors about the exodus comet.
