The Zohar says Messiah will come in 2012?

I've recently became aware that certain preachers are saying that the Zohar predicts Messiah will come in the year 5773, which corresponds to the year 2012. According to these preachers, if a messiah figure does come in 2012 it will be a false messiah, perhaps even the anti-chirst, which will lead to many jewish people accepting a false messiah. Has anyone else heard of this? If so, what is your input?

Rudy.

I hearfd just yesterday the Zohar is Messiah, but maybe this is what someone intended to say...Jesus said there will be many false Messiahs....Know them by their fruits...

Please check this site out it will tell you the aprox. date of Yashuas return thru Kabbalah.http://messianic-kabbalah.blogspot.com/2011/10/new-revelation-inter...

Zohar says in Vayera 1:119a :

"Rebbi Shimon opened up and said: "And I will remember My covenant with Yaakov" (Vayikra 26:42) . (Yaakov is written) full with a Vav, why? But in 2 sides is the secret of Chochmah, one which is a secret on the level of Chochmah, the place where Yaakov dwells, but this verse is said about the Galut of Israel, for when they are in Galus, the time that they are remembered (the House of Yaakov), they are remembered via the secret of Vav. And that is that in the 6th millenium, and the Rememberance (Pekidah) is in the secret of Vav, 6 moments and a half time and in the time of the 60th year to the bar on the door in the 6th millenium, the G-d of Heaven will raise a rememberance for the Daughter of Yaakov, and from that time until the Full Rememberance (Zechirah) will be 6 years and a half, and from that time another 6 years, and these are 72 and a half. In 66, the King Moshiach will be revealed in the Land of Galilee. And one star in the east will swallow 7 stars in the north, and a flame will be hanging in the sky for 60 days, and battles will be aroused in the world on the northern side, and 2 kings will fall in these battles, and all the nations of the world will gather on the Daughter of Yaakov, to push her out from the world, and on this time it is written "And it is a time of trouble for Yaakov, and from it he will be saved" (Yirmiyahu 30:7)

And thus the souls will finish from the body, and will need to be renewed. And the sign for this (the verse that has a hint for this) is "All of the souls that come to Yaakov to Mitzraim are 66" (Breishit 46:26).

At 73, all the kings of the world will gather in the large city of Rome, and HaKadosh Baruch Hu will arouse upon them fire and hail and algabish stones, and they will be lost from the world, except for those kings that didn't go to there, and they will return to fight other battles. And from that time, the King Moshiach will be aroused in the whole world, and some other nations and some other forces will gather with him, and all of B'nei Yisrael will be gathered in all those places, until the completion of those 100 years.

And thus the Vav will join with the Heh, and thus "And they will bring all of your brothers from all of the nations as an offering to Hashem" (Yeshayahu 66:20).

And the sons of Yishmael are ready at that time to arouse all the nations of the world to come upon Yerushalayim, as it says "And I will gather all of the nations to Yerushalayim for war" (Zecharya 14:2), and it is written "And the kings of the earth will gather and the rulers will take counsel on Hashem and his Moshiach" (Tehillim 2:2). And it is written "He who sits in Heaven laughs, Hashem derides them" (Tehillim 2:4). And afterwards, the small Vav will arouse to be joined, and will renew souls that were old, in order to renew the world, like it is written "Hashem will be glad in his handiwork" (Tehillim 114:31), and it is written "Hashem's glory is eternal" (Tehillim 114:31), to be joined as is proper. "Hashem will be happy with his handiwork", to bring them down (to rest) forever, to that everything will be as a new creation, to join the entire world together as one.

Happy are all those that will be around in the world at the end of the 6th millenium, to go up to Shabbat, that this is one day for HaKadosh Baruch Hu by itself, to join together as is proper, to absorb new souls, and to be in the world with those that remain in the beginning, as it is written "And it will be those found in Tzion and the remainder in Yerushalayim holy will be said to him, all those written for life in Yerushalayim."

And in Vayera 117a :

"And in 600 years to the 6th millenium, the gates of upper wisdom will open, and the wells of lower wisdom, and the world will be repaired to go up to the 7th millenium, like a man that is repairs himself on the 6th day in the afternoon to go up to Shabbat, thus it is here, and the sign fo this is "And in the 600th year to the life of Noach" etc (Breishit 7:11) "all the great springs of the deep opened up."

Rebbi Yose said to him: All this is a much greater amount of time from what the friends have stated, that it is 1 day for the Galut of Knesset Yisrael, and not more, as it is written: "He has given me as desolate and faint for an entire day" (Eichah 1:13)."

The traditional jewish understanding of these verses is that Messiah will come in a year ending with the number 73 after the 600 years to the 6th millenium (5600). 5773 is a possible date but Jews speak of it only because there are a lot of pagan prophecies about 2012.

IS THE HIDDEN MANNA THE MESSIANIC KABBALAH SECRETS OF THE BIBLE? The Zohar Reveals that the HIDDEN MANNA is the Deep Kabbalah Secrets of the Bible. And Jesus Christ Revealed that He is the Manna, and the Messianic Kabbalah Wisdom, in Person!

Exactly where in the Zohar do you read this?

I have a Zohar set of 23 volumes. I think another version has 5 or 7. No it is not just one book. So again, where in the Zohar is this written or where and how can we extrapolate a date on the Roman claendar from the Hebrew? (I know this can be and is done, but I'm asking specifically toward the statement about Messiah coming in 2012).

There is absolutely no way he can come in 2012, assuming the book of revelation can be trusted in its' chronology of 42 months of Antichrist's reign preceeding the 1st resurrection / appearance of Messiah.
Nevertheless, 2012 may have significance, in different regards.

(I know this can be and is done, but I'm asking specifically toward the statement about Messiah coming in 2012).

The Zohar is lengthy and usually divided into five volumes total.  The Three volumes of the Zohar itself and two additional volumes: Zohar Chadash (the New Zohar) and Tikiuni Zohar (Corrections to the Zohar).

This main body of the book was published in three volumes: Volume 1 on Bereishit (Genesis)

Volume 2 on Shemot (Exodus)

Volume 3 on Viyikra, Bamidbar and Devarim (Leviticus, Numbers, and Deuteronomy).

The Tikiuni Zohar is not actually correction to errors in the Zohar but a supplement written after the main body was complete, which often refers to the material in the main body as "the earlier book".

The Zohar Chadash contains material found in some manuscripts that was lacking in the first printed edition which had already established the standard text.

The main body of the Zohar is divided up into commentaries on each of the Torah portions, however the work seems to have never been completed.  The earlier portions of the Torah have very complete commentary, but the later portions of the Torah have whole parshas lacking.

The earlier part of the Zohar, also known as Zohar `Al haTorah (Zohar on the Torah, זוהר על התורה) or Midrash Rashbi, contains several smaller "books," as described below.

At the start of the first volume is printed a "Preface to the Book of the Zohar" (pages 1a to 14b).

Sifra diTzni`uta/Book of the Hidden (ספרא דצניעותא)
This small "book," three pages long, (Volume 2, page 176b-179a) -- the name of which, "Book of the Hidden," attests to its importance and uniqueness -- is considered one of the most important and concentrated parts of the Zohar. In it are foundations of the Torah, and secrets of fine and deep remazim/hints.

Idra Rabba/The Great Assembly (אדרא רבא)
The Idra Rabba is found in the Zohar Vol. 3, parashat Nasso (pp. 127b-145a), and its name means "The Great Assembly." "Idra" is a sitting-place of sages, usually circular, and the word "Rabba/Great" differentiates this section from the section Idra Zuta, which was an assembly of fewer sages that occurred later, as mentioned below.

Idra Zuta/The Smaller Assembly (אדרא זוטא)
The Idra Zuta is found in the Zohar Vol. 3, parashat Haazinu (p. 287b to 296b), and is called "Idra Zuta," which means, "The Smaller Assembly," distinguishing it from the Greater Assembly, "Idra Rabba," mentioned above. In the Idra Zuta Rashbi's colleagues convene again, this time seven in number, after the three mentioned above passed away. In the Idra Zuta the Chevraya Kadisha are privileged to hear teachings from Rashbi which conclude the words which were explained in the Idra Rabba.

Ra`aya Meheimna/The Faithful Shepherd (רעיא מהימנא)
The book Ra`aya Meheimna, the title of which means "The Faithful Shepherd," and which is by far the largest "book" included in the book of the Zohar, is what Moshe, the "Faithful Shepherd," teaches and reveals to Rashbi and his friends, who include Tannaim and Amoraim. In this assembly of Holy Friends, which took place in the Beit Midrash of Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai, secrets of and revelations on mitzvot of the Torah are explained and clarified -- roots and deep meanings of mitzvot. Since it deals with mitzvot, from Ra`aya Meheimna it is possible to learn very much about the ways of the halakhic rulings of the Rabbis.[19]

Midrash haNe`elam/The Hidden Midrash (מדרש הנעלם)
Midrash haNe`elam is located within the body of the Zohar (parashat Vayera, Chayei Sarah, Toldot) and the Zohar Chadash (pp. 2b-30b; 46b-47b (in the Zohar Chadash edition by Rav Reuven Margoliot), and in parashat Balak, Ki Teitze, and the entire Zohar Chadash on Shir haShirim, Ruth, and Eikah.)

Tikiuni Zohar was a supplemental volume printed with the first edition of the Zohar.

Hope this helps
