This Gospel was  in Hebrew and read by the emissaries themselves, including Matthew and James, and it is the <strong>true source behind our synoptic Gospels<\/strong>, later abridged into what we now call the Gospel of Matthew.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>One particular verse \u2014 <strong>Matthew 12:42<\/strong> \u2014 offers a perfect example of how restoring the Hebrew text sheds new light on the meaning and context of Yeshua\u2019s words.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcdc The Mystery of the Queen of the South<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In the familiar verse, Yeshua says:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe queen of the South shall rise up in the judgment with this generation and shall condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon.\u201d<\/em><br>\u2014 Matthew 12:42 (cf. Luke 11:31)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>In Greek and English, this \u201cqueen of the South\u201d is commonly identified with the <strong>Queen of Sheba<\/strong>, who visited King Solomon in 1 Kings 10. But early sources reveal something deeper \u2014 something that may have been preserved in the original Hebrew Gospel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83c\udffa A Lost Name Recovered<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>According to several <strong>medieval commentaries<\/strong>, the <em>Gospel according to the Hebrews<\/em> included the <strong>name of the queen<\/strong> \u2014 and it wasn\u2019t \u201cSheba.\u201d It was <strong>Meroe<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This puzzled scholars for centuries. But in the course of our research, we\u2019ve discovered that this is not a mistake \u2014 it\u2019s a <strong>relic of the original Hebrew Gospel<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In our reconstruction of GH 12:43 (the verse numbering in the restored Hebrew Gospel), we read:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>\u05de\u05f4\u05d2<\/strong> \u05de\u05b7\u05dc\u05b0\u05db\u05b7\u05bc\u05ea \u05de\u05b0\u05e8\u05b9\u05d0\u05b8\u05d4 \u05ea\u05b8\u05bc\u05e7\u05d5\u05bc\u05dd \u05d1\u05b7\u05bc\u05de\u05b4\u05bc\u05e9\u05b0\u05c1\u05e4\u05b8\u05bc\u05d8 \u05e2\u05b4\u05dd \u05d6\u05b6\u05d4 \u05d4\u05b7\u05d3\u05bc\u05d5\u05b9\u05e8 \u05d5\u05b0\u05ea\u05b7\u05e8\u05b0\u05e9\u05b4\u05c1\u05d9\u05e2\u05b6\u05e0\u05bc\u05d5\u05bc \u05db\u05b4\u05bc\u05d9\u05be\u05d1\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05d4 \u05de\u05b4\u05e7\u05b0\u05e6\u05b5\u05d4 \u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05e8\u05b6\u05e5 \u05dc\u05b4\u05e9\u05b0\u05c1\u05de\u05d5\u05b9\u05e2\u05b7 \u05d0\u05b6\u05ea \u05d7\u05b8\u05db\u05b0\u05de\u05b7\u05ea \u05e9\u05b0\u05c1\u05dc\u05b9\u05de\u05b9\u05d4 \u05d5\u05b0\u05d4\u05b4\u05e0\u05b5\u05bc\u05d4 \u05d9\u05d5\u05b9\u05ea\u05b5\u05e8 \u05de\u05b4\u05e9\u05b0\u05bc\u05c1\u05dc\u05b9\u05de\u05b9\u05d4 \u05e4\u05b9\u05d4<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><em>\u201cThe Queen of Mero\u00eb shall rise in the judgment with this generation and shall condemn it, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon \u2014 and behold, one greater than Solomon is here.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udcd6 Who Was the Queen of Mero\u00eb?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Ancient sources help us understand who this queen really was:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Josephus<\/strong> says the Queen of Sheba was the <strong>queen of Egypt and Ethiopia<\/strong>, and that the capital of Ethiopia was formerly called <strong>Seba<\/strong> but was renamed <strong>Mero\u00eb<\/strong> by Cambyses of Persia.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Book of Acts<\/strong> mentions <strong>Candace<\/strong>, a dynastic title for queens of <strong>Mero\u00eb<\/strong>, showing the region\u2019s ongoing royal lineage.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Kebra Nagast<\/strong>, Ethiopia\u2019s national epic, calls her <strong>Makeda<\/strong>, queen of Cush, and says she bore Solomon a son \u2014 <strong>Menelik I<\/strong>, father of the Ethiopian dynasty.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The Talmud<\/strong>, <strong>Targum Sheni<\/strong>, and <strong>Midrash ha-Hefez<\/strong> all preserve fascinating riddles and mystical interactions between Solomon and the queen, affirming her spiritual insight and royal authority.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>All these traditions point to a single region: <strong>Mero\u00eb<\/strong> \u2014 the capital of the Kingdom of Kush, in modern-day Sudan, between the Blue and White Nile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd0d Why the Confusion?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In Hebrew, the phrase <strong>\u05de\u05b7\u05dc\u05b0\u05db\u05b7\u05bc\u05ea \u05de\u05b0\u05e8\u05b9\u05d0\u05b8\u05d4<\/strong> (<em>Malkat Meroe<\/em>) can mean either:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>\u201c<strong>The Queen of Mero\u00eb<\/strong>,\u201d<br>or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201c<strong>Queen Meroe<\/strong>\u201d (interpreting the place as her name).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Because Hebrew doesn\u2019t use capital letters and the original manuscripts lacked punctuation, it\u2019s easy to see how later readers misunderstood the text \u2014 assuming <em>Mero\u00eb<\/em> was her <strong>personal name<\/strong>, when in fact it was the name of her <strong>kingdom<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This discovery is more than linguistic nuance \u2014 it\u2019s a living example of how restoring the original Hebrew text brings clarity and truth to the teachings of Yeshua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">\ud83d\udd28 Help Us Restore the Original Gospel<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We are now nearing completion of a full <strong>reconstruction of the lost Gospel according to the Hebrews<\/strong>, restored in its original Hebrew and accompanied by a literal English translation and critical notes.
