Chag Yeshua \u2013 The Feast of Deliverance<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n

There is a powerful and prophetic festival on the biblical calendar\u2014once lost to history, now being restored in our generation<\/strong>. This sacred time of celebration begins at sunset on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025<\/strong>, and continues for seven days<\/strong>, through sunset on Wednesday, September 10th<\/strong>. It is called Chag Yeshua<\/strong>\u2014The Feast of Deliverance<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is more than a commemoration of past events\u2014it is a festival of faith, freedom, and forward-looking hope<\/strong>, rooted in a dramatic story preserved in the Third Book of Maccabees<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcd6 The Biblical Background<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In 217 B.C.E.<\/strong>, following the Battle of Raphia<\/strong>, the Egyptian king Ptolemy IV<\/strong> attempted to enter the Holy of Holies<\/strong> in the Jerusalem Temple. But YHWH repelled him miraculously (3 Macc. 1\u20132). Enraged, he returned to Egypt and launched a violent persecution of the Jews living there\u2014stripping away their rights, forcing pagan practices, and ordering mass executions (3 Macc. 3\u20135).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But one man\u2014a faithful elder named Eleazar<\/strong>\u2014stood up and prayed for deliverance. And YHWH answered<\/strong>. Through divine intervention, the king\u2019s heart was changed, the Jews were spared, and a royal decree was issued granting them peace and honor once again (3 Macc. 6\u20137).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In response, the Jews in Egypt declared an annual festival<\/strong>, a seven-day celebration of salvation and divine rescue. They called it:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u05d7\u05b7\u05d2 \u05d9\u05b5\u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05bc\u05e2\u05b8\u05d4 \u2013 Chag Yeshua \u2013 The Feast of Deliverance.<\/strong>
(3 Maccabees 6:36)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

\u2721\ufe0f Why \u201cYeshua\u201d?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In Hebrew, the word \u201cYeshua\u201d (\u05d9\u05b5\u05e9\u05c1\u05d5\u05bc\u05e2\u05b8\u05d4)<\/strong> means deliverance<\/strong> or salvation<\/strong>\u2014but it is also the very name of our Messiah<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This festival doesn’t just recall an ancient salvation\u2014it points prophetically to the ultimate deliverance<\/strong> of Israel through Messiah Yeshua<\/strong>. For believers, Chag Yeshua becomes a summer festival of Messiah<\/strong>, rejoicing in what He has done and what He will do for the redemption of His people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

\ud83c\udf89 How Do We Celebrate Chag Yeshua?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

According to 3 Maccabees, the original observance included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. \ud83c\udf7d\ufe0f A Banquet of Deliverance<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

A joyous feast known as Seudat Yeshua<\/em> (The Banquet of Deliverance)\u2014not a Passover seder, but more like a summer thanksgiving meal<\/strong> or barbecue<\/strong> (3 Macc. 6:31). Perfect for an outdoor dinner or picnic!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2. \ud83c\udfb5 Songs of Praise<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The people sang \u201csongs of their fathers\u201d<\/em>\u2014traditional songs of salvation, praising YHWH as Deliverer and Defender<\/strong> (3 Macc. 6:32). Psalms and praise music focused on deliverance, hope, and Messiah<\/strong> are ideal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

3. \ud83d\udc83 Traditional Hebraic Dance<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Dancing was part of the celebration (3 Macc. 6:35). Gather with friends and family, and dance like Miriam at the Sea!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

4. \ud83d\udcd6 Reading the Story<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The events of 3 Maccabees<\/strong> should be retold or read aloud. This is central to the purpose of the feast\u2014to remember and rejoice<\/strong> in YHWH\u2019s salvation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

5. \ud83c\udf38 Floral Crowns and Decorations<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

The text tells us the people were \u201ccrowned with all kinds of fragrant flowers\u201d<\/strong> (3 Macc. 6:30)\u2014a beautiful way to honor the joy of deliverance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

6. \u2600\ufe0f Summer Festivities<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

Since it falls in early September (late summer in the Northern Hemisphere), modern celebrations might include barbecues, pool parties, outdoor gatherings, or community festivals<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\n\n\n\n

\ud83d\udcc5 When Is It in 2025?<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The original festival was celebrated from the 8th to the 14th of Epeiph<\/strong> on the Egyptian calendar, which corresponded to 12 Elul 3544<\/strong> on the Hebrew calendar in 217 B.C.E.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In 2025<\/strong>, this aligns with:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
