One such reader was <strong>Philo of Alexandria<\/strong> (c.\u202f20\u202fBCE\u202f\u2013\u202f50\u202fCE), a Jewish philosopher who read Genesis allegorically and found in it a blueprint for the universe: a <strong>divine mind<\/strong> (<em>Logos<\/em>) shaping <strong>formless matter<\/strong> (<em>hyl\u0113<\/em>). Though he lived two millennia before quantum theory, his interpretations foreshadow ideas we are only now expressing through modern field theory.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This commentary introduces a modern scientific framework I call the <strong>Grand Unified Field Theory of Asymmetry (GUFT)<\/strong> which I recently proposed in a Theoretical Physics paper (See:  <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/guft-asymmetry\">A Grand Unified Field Theory of Asymmetry: Spacetime and Gravity as Emergent Phases of the Dark Energy Quantum Field<\/a>).  GUFT proposes that the universe is built from two foundational quantum fields:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The <strong>Dark Energy Quantum Field (DEQF)<\/strong>\u2014a pervasive, eternal field that is not random or chaotic, but exhibits patterns of intelligence. In another recent paper, I describe it as an <strong>Eternal Neural Network<\/strong>\u2014a conscious, infinite substrate from which logic, order, and structure emerge. It is, in essence, a scientific way of describing the concept of an eternal, omniscient <strong>Mind<\/strong> underlying creation.  (See <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/details\/eternal-neural-network\">The Eternal Neural Network: Time, Will, and Intelligence in the Infinite Substrate<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Graviton Quantum Field (GQF)<\/strong>\u2014a field that emerges from the DEQF and gives rise to <strong>spacetime<\/strong> and <strong>gravity<\/strong>. Unlike the DEQF, the GQF is not intelligent in itself\u2014it is a <strong>responsive medium<\/strong>, the passive <em>hyl\u0113<\/em> (matter) that the Mind shapes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In this theory, all of reality is the interaction between these two fields: the eternal mind (DEQF) and the responsive medium (GQF). What we call &#8220;nature&#8221; or &#8220;physics&#8221; is the visible unfolding of these interactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As Galileo said &#8220;Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe.&#8221; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below is the equation that describes how spacetime emerges from the interaction of the DEQF Substrate with the Graviton Quantum Field:<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1023\" height=\"209\" src=\"http:\/\/nazarenespace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/equation.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-8827\" srcset=\"http:\/\/nazarenespace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/equation.jpg 1023w, http:\/\/nazarenespace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/equation-300x61.jpg 300w, http:\/\/nazarenespace.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/equation-768x157.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 1362px) 62vw, 840px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>But my purpose here is not to dazzle the reader with equations or jargon<\/em><\/strong>. If you\u2019ve never read a physics paper in your life, that\u2019s fine\u2014this blog is for you. If you believe Genesis is the inspired Word of God\u2014<strong><em>as I do<\/em><\/strong>\u2014then I want to show you how this view of the universe not only <strong>respects<\/strong> the text of Genesis, but actually <strong>flows from it<\/strong>. In fact,<strong><em> a similar understanding was taught 2,000 years ago by Philo of Alexandria<\/em><\/strong>. He saw Genesis as describing a divine mind impressing form on passive matter\u2014and GUFT affirms that same duality (as expressed in the two sides of the equation above) using the language of modern science.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This commentary walks through Genesis 1\u20132 and presents GUFT in plain language, verse by verse. My goal is to help readers of faith understand that modern physics, rightly interpreted, need not challenge belief in the Creator\u2014it may, in fact, offer us a clearer glimpse of <strong>how<\/strong> the creation unfolded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Day&nbsp;0&nbsp;| Genesis&nbsp;1\u202f:\u202f1<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u05d1\u05b0\u05bc\u05e8\u05b5\u05d0\u05e9\u05b4\u05c1\u05d9\u05ea&nbsp;\u05d1\u05b8\u05bc\u05e8\u05b8\u05d0&nbsp;\u05d0\u05b1\u05dc\u05b9\u05d4\u05b4\u05d9\u05dd&nbsp;\u05d0\u05b5\u05ea&nbsp;\u05d4\u05b7\u05e9\u05b8\u05bc\u05c1\u05de\u05b7\u05d9\u05b4\u05dd&nbsp;\u05d5\u05b0\u05d0\u05b5\u05ea&nbsp;\u05d4\u05b8\u05d0\u05b8\u05e8\u05b6\u05e5<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reading the Verse<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>*&#8221;In a beginning&#8221;\u2014The original Hebrew could be understood as it was by the LXX translator, <em>&#8220;In a principle&#8221;\u2014<\/em>&#8220;Elohim created the heavens and the earth.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Principle, not timestamp.<\/strong> As Philo notes (<em>On Creation<\/em> \u00a727), time begins <em>within<\/em> creation. &#8220;In the beginning&#8221; thus refers to <strong>a logical principle<\/strong>, not a temporal event. GUFT identifies this principle as the <strong>DEQF<\/strong>\u2014the eternal neural substrate, or mind, from which all patterns emerge.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Heavens and Earth.<\/strong> Philo interprets these as representing <strong>mind<\/strong> and <strong>matter<\/strong>\u2014active intellect and passive substance. My GUFT maps these onto DEQF (mind, order) and GQF (formless substrate).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Physics Analogy<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The DEQF contains all possible configurations as pure potential. Genesis 1:1 is the moment that distinction is drawn: a domain of form (<em>shamayim<\/em>) and a domain of potential (<em>aretz<\/em>) are declared.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Day&nbsp;1&nbsp;| Genesis&nbsp;1\u202f:\u202f2\u20135<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;The earth was without form and void\u2026 and the Spirit of Elohim hovered\u2026&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Tohu and Bohu<\/strong> describe a field without symmetry or structure. The GQF exists but has not yet undergone coherence. Spacetime has no metric.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Spirit hovering<\/strong> represents the first ripple of order: the DEQF stimulating the GQF into alignment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Let there be light.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Not physical photons\u2014but the first <strong>informational coherence<\/strong>, a kind of cosmic initialization or phase alignment. Philo calls it intelligible light; GUFT calls it the <strong>first coherent signal of the GQF<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>&#8220;Day one.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Not &#8220;first day&#8221; (ordinal) but literally &#8220;day one&#8221;, <em>one complete phase loop<\/em>. Time as we know it begins inside this closed system.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Day&nbsp;2&nbsp;| Genesis&nbsp;1\u202f:\u202f6\u201310<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>firmament<\/strong> (<em>raqia<\/em>) separates waters above from waters below. Philo sees it as the first corporeal boundary. GUFT reads it as the emergence of a <strong>metric shell<\/strong>\u2014a three-dimensional spatial manifold enclosing an entangled field domain. The Hebrew root <em>raqa<\/em> (\u05e8\u05b8\u05e7\u05b7\u05e2), meaning \u201cto hammer out\u201d or \u201cto spread thin,\u201d aligns strikingly with the concept of an expanding universe that begins in extreme density and rapidly stretches outward. This expansion not only decreases density, but also establishes the initial framework of spacetime itself. In GUFT, this is the birth of the spacetime \u201cbubble\u201d\u2014an emergent domain stabilized by the geometry of the Graviton Quantum Field (GQF), yet seeded and structured by the eternal logic encoded in the Dark Energy Quantum Field (DEQF).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is the bubble of spacetime: an <strong>emergent domain<\/strong> stabilized by the structure of the GQF, but seeded by the DEQF&#8217;s encoded logic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Day&nbsp;3&nbsp;| Genesis&nbsp;1\u202f:\u202f11\u201313<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Plants appear already mature. This reflects recursive structure. Philo emphasizes fruit\u2192seed\u2192fruit cycles. GUFT highlights this as <strong>self-replicating algorithmic code<\/strong>\u2014an echo of the Eternal Neural Network which also runs recursive cycles to sustain memory, consciousness, and biological life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Day&nbsp;4&nbsp;| Genesis&nbsp;1\u202f:\u202f14\u201319<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Philo emphasizes that God did not need the sun to create light\u2014a point echoed by Genesis, which distinguishes between the light of Day 1 and the creation of the sun and stars on Day 4. GUFT agrees: the first light is not physical illumination but <strong>coherent informational order<\/strong> emerging from the DEQF. Stars appear later as <strong>by-products<\/strong> of that encoded order. What modern physics reveals is astonishing: the universe exhibits <strong>precise mathematical fine-tuning<\/strong> that favors life. The fundamental constants of physics and the structure of quantum fields are such that matter slightly outweighs antimatter; gravity is weak enough for stars to form, yet strong enough to ignite fusion; and most remarkably, the nuclear resonance levels in <strong>helium and carbon nuclei<\/strong> are <em>exactly right<\/em> to favor the <strong>triple-alpha process<\/strong>\u2014a highly improbable fusion chain that produces carbon inside stars. This process is so delicately tuned that even slight changes in the strong force or electromagnetic coupling would prevent carbon from forming. Yet carbon is the foundation of organic life. This as no accident: these outcomes reflect <strong>embedded logic in the Eternal Neural Network (DEQF)<\/strong>. Life is not an afterthought, but part of the field&#8217;s <strong>initial condition set<\/strong>. In Genesis terms, the stars are placed in the heavens <em>after<\/em> the informational foundation for life has already been laid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Philo notes the prominence of the number 4. GUFT points out this corresponds to the 4D structure of spacetime and the symmetry groups that govern particle physics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Day&nbsp;5&nbsp;| Genesis&nbsp;1\u202f:\u202f20\u201323<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Fish and birds are tied to sensation and perception. Philo associates them with the five senses. This as emergence of <strong>localized feedback loops<\/strong>\u2014a precursor to neural information processing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Day&nbsp;6&nbsp;| Genesis&nbsp;1\u202f:\u202f24\u201331<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Humans are created &#8220;in the image&#8221; of God. Philo locates this image in <strong>mind<\/strong>, not flesh. My theory of the Substrate as an eternal Neural Network  agrees: the Eternal Neural Network <em>instantiates<\/em> finite nodes\u2014human minds\u2014that reflect its infinite intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Creation climaxes in <strong>intellect capable of moral will<\/strong>. This is no evolutionary accident, but the fulfillment of a universe designed to host observers who can mirror the Creator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Day&nbsp;7&nbsp;| Genesis&nbsp;2\u202f:\u202f1\u20133<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Philo says God did not cease absolutely, but <strong>ceased from one mode<\/strong> of creation and <strong>began another<\/strong>: from mortal creation to divine. Six days = entropy\u2011bound matter; the <strong>seventh<\/strong> = eternal coherence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>My GUFT affirms: Sabbath marks <strong>synchronization<\/strong> with the DEQF, a reset from temporal process to timeless substrate. Our weekly rest parallels quantum coherence maintenance\u2014a return to foundational order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><em>Genesis 2:4\u20135 | The Book within the Book<\/em><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Philo calls this the <strong>&#8220;book&#8221; of creation<\/strong>\u2014a metaphor for the Logos, in which all patterns are inscribed. My GUFT identifies this with the DEQF&#8217;s <strong>eternal data layer<\/strong>. Before any thing appears visibly, it exists <strong>ideally<\/strong> within the field. Form precedes function.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Even &#8220;herbs before they grew&#8221; signify archetypal forms. Just as modern physics views particles as excitations of fields, Genesis presents reality as first <strong>encoded in mind<\/strong>, then <strong>rendered in matter<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>My GUFT does not revise Genesis\u2014it decodes it.<\/em><\/strong> The two-field ontology of DEQF and GQF matches the ancient duality of divine Logos and formless matter. The narrative of Genesis 1\u20132 anticipates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"1\">\n<li><strong>An eternal mind<\/strong> (DEQF) as substrate of all order.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>A secondary field<\/strong> (GQF) as passive recipient, shaping spacetime.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Recursive intelligence<\/strong> as the divine image in man.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Sabbath as synchronization<\/strong> with eternal coherence.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Philo glimpsed these truths 2,000 years ago. GUFT articulates them in the language of modern science. For those who trust in the inspired truth of Genesis, the message is clear: faith and physics need not be at odds.
