In the Wisdom of Solomon we are told that this \u201cfiery serpent\u201d represented a \u201csign of salvation (Yeshua)\u201d the \u201cSavior of all\u201d: (\u201cYeshua is Hebrew for \u201csalvation\u201d)<\/p>\n\n\n\n [5] For when the horrible fierceness of beasts came upon these, and they perished with the stings of crooked serpents, your wrath endured not for ever:<\/em> In the Good News according to Yochanan , Messiah boldly identified himself as this \u201cSavior\u201d saying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n 13 And no man has ascended into heaven, but He who descended from heaven\u2013 the Son of Man, who is in heaven.<\/em> 28 Yeshua said to them again: When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am He. And I did not do a thing of My own, but as My Father taught Me, so I speak.<\/em> 32 And when I am lifted up from the earth, I will draw all men to Me.<\/em> Why was this serpent a type of Messiah? Because the gematria (numerical value) of the Hebrew word for \u201cserpent\u201d (\u05e0\u05d7\u05e9) is 358 which is also the gematria of the word \u201cMessiah\u201d (\u05de\u05e9\u05d9\u05d7) 358 is also the gematria for the phrase \u201cShiloh comes\u201d (\u05d9\u05d1\u05d0 \u05e9\u05d9\u05dc\u05d4) (Gen. 49:10).
